Very good food which seems authentic. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Excellent.
Everything was really tasty. We ordered almost five main dishes for just the two of us and totally loved the DONG PO PORK and San Bei Chicken (Three Cup Chicken). The other stuff was good too. The staff, Tina, was super friendly and always smiling. Todayโs my birthday, and it made my day. This place has definitely earned a spot as a five-star Chinese restaurant in our minds.
Five stars all the way! Delicious and massive serving size for the mains!!! WOW! The interior is like being transported to another dimension. I have a few suggestions to elevate it further: have a brown muslin cloth to hang from ceiling to floor at the facade outside to give if a more exclusive look from the outside. Also have table lights for that exclusive dining feel. The interior has a lot more potential. I can discuss all my other ideas for free if the owner wants to chat with me
Had been very much looking forward to trying Wu Kong Kitchen and Bar Southport. The Menu looked really interesting. Located in the Queen Street Shopping Centre, where Dendy Cinemas is. The Style, Design and Layout is quite Unique. The Waitress seemed determined to bundle all the Diners into one part of the seating area, (closest to the kitchen and bar). Which was strange, as there are Many seating options in this spacious Restaurant. So, I was sat next to a couple on one side, a large extended family in front of me & an unruly young family to the other side. A young couple came In next and the same waitress wanted to squeeze them in next to the couple sitting next to me. They requested they sit elsewhere, (in hindsight, I should have done that too). Had the Peking Duck Spring Rolls for Entree, Spicy Double-Cooked Pork Belly for the Main and a Fried Ice Cream. With a Tiger Beer. They did my pet Peeve and Served the Entree and Main Together !! Seriously- PLEASE- Serve the Entree. Allow us punters at least 10 minutes to enjoy that, before serving the Main ! Itโs Really Not That Hard !! The Spring Rolls & Pork Belly were Nicely Presented and Tasted quite Good. The serving size was a bit Skinny for the price,($16 for the Spring Rolls and $26 for the Pork Belly). The Fried Ice Cream was a little Doughy, But pretty good. Could have used some Caramel Topping to justify the $12. Was disappointed with the seating placement. The food was actually pretty good. But, expensive considering the serving size. Oh, and if you do go, make sure to park in the underground parking area - 2hrs Free Parking. Compared to the ridiculous 45 minutes in the street level outdoor parking.
The atmosphere here is just perfect for a close gathering, the jazz music playing in the background and warm decor just makes it so welcoming! Not to mention the food is absolutely delicious. The lunch special items that run from 11-5 are just great! Will definitely be coming regularly.
