Thought to give this cafe a second chanceโฆ since it's the most accessible dessert spot for us right now. The bingsu is delicious. I was a little surprised when they charged me extra 1.20 for a take away cup for my iced coffee as I only had a few sips as it was just okay. I donโt mind it really, but somehow it reminded me agian of my first experienceof this place. My first encounter to pay for take away coffee cup, itโs the same price if I ordered it for take away, so I think itโs not fair to pay more becuase a guest canโt finish their coffee? I had initially intended to disregard this issue; however, a past experience from this cafe, Several months ago, I ordered a cheesecake from the counter where this particular lady was working. What struck me was her handling of my dessert - she sliced the cheesecake, licked the cheese cake sticking on the knife, and then used the same knife to cut another cake without any sanitary precautions. It really icked me and got rid of it as soon as i left the cafe. Money wasted, I ddnt had the energy to confront then, I was too tired. you have to be careful of your actions esp if customers can see your every move in the kitchen. What made our experience manageable was the young lady who served us with a big smile and a friendly approach.
The mango matcha bingsu was delicious. The Earl Grey chocolate cake offered a rich chocolate flavor, though the Earl Grey notes were subtle. The coffee and honey toast were alright. But I'm a little disappointed, as I wish there had been a more impressive display for the iced beverages. The interior decor is simple and clean. I appreciate the exterior environment, which features trees and a convenient street-paid car park.
Iโm so impressed with the quality of the cakes here. Iโve visited a couple of times, and I love that theyโre open until 11pm on weekends โ itโs the perfect spot to go after dinner with friends for something sweet. The staff mentioned that all of their beautiful cakes are made in-house by the Korean owner, and it really reminds me of the stunning cakes back in Japan. Theyโre not overly sweet โ just perfectly balanced โ and each one is presented like a little jewel. I tried the yogurt grape cake, which was incredible. The cream was lighter than a typical crรจme, and itโs probably one of my favourites so far. My friend had the matcha basque cheesecake, which was creamy and rich yet still had the perfect level of sweetness. I would definitely come back again whenever weโre in Northbridge for dinner.
We ordered a bingsu and the waiting time was over 50 minutes, which felt quite long. The bingsu itself was refreshing, but the shaved ice was just plain milk with syrup and fruits on top. They do have the ice itself can come in different flavours such as matcha or chocolate, which makes it more unique and enjoyable. We didn't try that so can't judge it is good or not, based on the bingsu we ordered I only able to rate it 2 stars. Mainly too long of the waiting time, the taste nothing surprise. We also tried the cheesecake. While it was solid and filling, we personally prefer a softer, more moist texture. It is good for people like to eat dessert that not too sweet, but I wish it can be sweeter. So the cake will be 3 stars. Overall, the cafรฉ has a nice concept, but we feel the experience could be improved, as it currently doesnโt fully live up to the hype.
A friend brought us to this lovely cafe ๐ relaxed cafe vibe and decor is super pretty! Loved the cake selection which is one of the best we've seen in Perth. The Bingsu and drinks were also well done here! Pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back for another visit to try out more goodies! ๐ง
