If you like Thai food, then you haven't lived until you've eaten here. This place has been here for 30 years, with some of the staff here for 20 plus years, and there is a reason for that and also a reason it is full everynight. My wife is Thai, so I have a experience with Thai food and i can honestly say this, to date, is the best Thai dinning experience we have had. Not only is the food on another level, the staff are very friendly and the service is exceptional. We always go for a bit of everything including deserts, and never disappointed with anything on the menu. Ask for a tour of the downstairs area, and yes everything in the photos is for sale. Always busy, so make a booking. Several parking stations a short walk away. Very family friendly.

Thai Pothong is an institution that has stood the test of time when it comes to Thai food in Sydney. Our dining experience was a memorable one. We were served by Oat & Team, who entertained kids in our group with balloons and attentively looked after all our dietary needs. We went for the Vegetarian Phi Phi banquet which was great value with 4 entrees, 5 mains plus 1 dessert. The food was delicious. We started off with drinking coconut and mango beach mocktail. We really enjoyed the veg duck salad, the bbq soy slices, veg chicken satay, veg golden egg, green curry, chilli basil veg chicken. We finished with mango sorbet, fried banana and the amazing golden pandan delight. The ambience reminded us of Thailand as the restaurant is decorated with artefacts and curios. Would definitely recommend.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The employees were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made me feel genuinely welcomed. The food was absolutely delicious every dish was full of flavour and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a special occasion. I celebrated my birthday here, and they even surprised me with a thoughtful gift! It made the afternoon even more memorable. Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. Highly recommend!

We’ve been coming here regularly for the best Thai food in Sydney! We always receive a warm welcome from Peter, Alan and Nick. If you are celebrating a birthday or a special occasion you are presented with a delightful pottery gift and a complimentary photo of your visit. My favourite dishes are the Green Curry Chicken, Penang Red Duck Curry, Chicken Cashew Nut and the soft shell crab salad. All so authentic and tasty! The cocktails here are also amazing. We always order the Pina Colada or Espresso Martini. I highly recommend visiting this amazing restaurant.

I honestly don’t think this restaurant even needs another review because it’s already full of glowing feedback — but it absolutely deserves one more. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. The food was not only delicious but came out incredibly fast without sacrificing quality. The staff were warm, attentive, and clearly very well-trained, making us feel welcome and cared for throughout our visit. Even the little details stood out — the toilets were spotless and smelled fresh, showing how much pride they take in maintaining a high standard in every aspect. Truly one of those places that gets everything right. Highly recommended!
