โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Taqueria Sin Nombre Weโve been eating at Dingo Ate My Taco since the beginning and I can confidently say this was by far my favourite experience yet. From the moment you arrive โ even just finding the place โ it feels like youโre about to step into some underground club. Walking in, the vibe hits instantly. Dark, cool, electric. The atmosphere alone is worth it. The staff? Elite. Welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what theyโre serving. And the FOODโฆ OMG. Every single thing we ate was absolutely incredible. Not one miss. Bold flavours, perfectly balanced, and unforgettable. PLEASE keep the birria on the menu ALWAYS ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ โ itโs non-negotiable. If youโre reading this trying to decide whether you should goโฆ YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS. No hesitation. Just go. ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฅ
Taqueria Sin Nombre is a new taco spot tucked away in a hidden alleyway, a sister restaurant of Dingo Ate My Taco. The vibe and interior are really cool and laid back, fitting perfectly in Chinatown. The staff at the entrance are bubbly, and with several Mexican workers on the team, it genuinely feels authentic. You can watch the taco bread being made in front of you, giving it an open-kitchen feel, almost like sitting at a wine bar counter it kept me engaged while waiting for the food. As for the food, there were definite highs and lows. Some tacos were under-seasoned maybe intentionally, since thereโs a toppings section where you can add your own sauces but personally, those werenโt enjoyable for me. The chicarron, fried crispy skin with guac, was tasty and not overly oily, good to nibble on while waiting, but nothing extraordinary. From the taco menu, the TOMBO options stood out. I tried the Vampiro and the pork one (not sure exactly name) and found both meats tender with good flavor. The prawn taco had solid flavor with mayo but was pretty standard. The rib eye was a bit thin and underseasoned, even after adding sauce, and felt like it was missing a flavor profile. Brisket was my favorite very tender, melt inyour mouth texture. The kanga asado was very chewy and didnโt have much flavor, so I didnโt enjoy it. I also tried a quesadilla that looked like a fried empanada inside had beans and other fillings, but it was very mid. One item I found interesting was a taco with a crispy shell, eaten like a taco sandwich โ the crunch and flavor worked well together and made for an interesting texture. Overall, itโs a spot with some standout tacos, some misses, and a unique vibe that makes it worth checking out if youโre exploring Chinatown.
Finally a fantastic taco place in the CBD! Taqueria Sin Nombre excels on every aspect: - friendly and efficient floor and kitchen staff - amazingly delicious foods and drinks - awesome atmosphere with the music from a turntable - no overpricing Highly recommended!
SO. GOOD. I had never been to Dingo Ate My Taco (the sister venue to this), however my friend had, so we knew TSN was going to be good. We got there right on opening (5pm on a Saturday) so we got a seat straightaway, picking the bar. We opted to share a few different tacos rather than order our own, so that we could try more flavours: โข Chicken Chicharron (crispy chicken skin) โ served with guacamole, but there is a mini help-yourself salsa bar, and the salsa was better paired with the fatty/salty chicken skin โข Tostada de Pulpo (octopus) โ DIVINE. Tender grilled octopus with avocado and mole. 10/10 no notes. โข Ribeye taco โ served with mini potato fries, like eating a steak frites taco! Great with the mild salsa too โข Birria taco โ *always* order the birria taco when there's one on the menu โข Fish โ tasty, but the piece of fish was a little too big for the taco, so the ratio b/w taco, fish, and the salsa was a bit off โข Al Pastor โ the only one I didn't get a photo of, pork from a spit with charred pineapple. The best one of the lot All of the staff were super friendly and I would love to go back again soon. The 3 stars for atmosphere is for the music being a bit too loud.
So excited to have this addition to the city. The tacos are some of the best around. I especially loved the al pastor and the ribeye, which is a limited-run special. The brisket costra is also delicious - could rival any barbecue spot. For snacks, donโt go past the smoked chicken skin chicharron with guac. There isnโt alcohol yet but the venue should be licensed soon. Either way, itโs a cosy, intimate space for some food or drinks.
