Small but cozy Japanese restaurant. The food is fresh and tasty, especially the unagi bowl and sashimi. Service is friendly and quick. Can get a bit crowded during busy hours, but overall great quality and worth a visit.

My visit to Sushi-Mori in Surry Hills was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I walked in, the intimate, authentic atmosphere set the stage for an incredible meal. The Kaisendon was a masterpiece. The bowl arrived like a work of art, a vibrant mosaic of the freshest seafood I’ve had in Sydney. Each slice of fish was a revelation: silky salmon, rich tuna, sweet scallop, and delicate kingfish, all resting perfectly on a bed of seasoned sushi rice. The quality was exceptional; you could taste the pristine, clean flavour of the ocean in every single bite. The balance was perfect, with just a touch of wasabi and soy to enhance, not overwhelm, the natural sweetness of the fish. Beyond the bowl, the service was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive. The staff clearly take pride in what they serve. Sushi-Mori is a genuine gem. If you’re a sashimi or seafood lover, their Kaisendon is a must order!

This is a great little place to get fresh sashimi. The chirashi bowl was delicious with the fresh cuts of fish. The gyoza was to die for. One of the best gyoza. Love the eel and the curry. The staff were super nice. Will definitely come back to try other items.

Sushi Mori is amazing! The sashimi is very fresh, thick-cut, and full of flavor. The tuna, salmon, scallops and octopus were all excellent — just like eating in Japan. The sushi platter was also great. Every piece was well-made, with warm, perfectly seasoned rice and very fresh fish. The grilled unagi was a highlight — soft, rich, and beautifully glazed. Other dishes like gyoza, agedashi tofu, and mini chirashi bowls were delicious too. Great quality, great presentation, and very good value. Also the customer service it’s wonderful. I will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

An amazing Japanese restaurant in Surry hills! Convenient location close to the train station. The food was fresh, authentic and delicious. The chef’s cooking is absolutely wonderful, and extremely fast with almost no wait. The seafood and sashimi came in large portions, and definitely worth the price. The service was quick and polite from friendly staff, extremely attentive and welcoming. Genuinely an experience worth trying especially if you like japanese cuisine! i highly recommend:)
