No Booking we wanted little spontaneity no trouble Sofias front of house staff accommodated. We sat at the bar bench beautifully crafted concrete! Enjoyed watching cocktails being concocted and staff ensuring constantly that we were being attended to ! The Smokey flavoured Octopus was so tasty. Sunday lunch was almost fully booked out recommend a booking for a table ! Has a cool outdoor area also.
We came to Sofia for my birthday lunch and it was such a good choice! Everyone was saying how good the food was. We did the feed me lunch menu and started with the Sofia bread, hummus and halloumi which were all delicious. For mains we had the lamb shoulder and maple roasted pumpkin and again couldn't fault it. Was a lot of food and you definitely will not leave hungry. Our waitress, Chardonnay, could not have been lovelier and made it special for my birthday bringing out little drinks for a toast for everyone. Only negative is it is hard to hear as it was bustling but that's not their fault. Will def be back!
Absolutely incredible!!!๐ highly highly recommend. Food is amazing & service to match!! Been here a few times now and cannot fault anything! You wonโt regret it! The feed me is amazing value for money and the Sofia bread OMG!!! The hospitality from all staff here is next level and something you donโt see / get often anymore!! Will definitely be back!
We recently visited Sofia on Hutt Street (twice) and had such wonderful experiences both times. The food is absolutely amazing; fresh, high quality, and beautifully simple, but executed so well. Their wood fired oven really steals the show. The signature bread was light, crispy, and perfectly salty, and itโs easy to see why itโs a standout. The octopus and other wood fired dishes were incredibly flavoursome with that subtle smoky char. We loved everything we tried, especially the whipped ricotta, lamb souvas, sashimi and oysters, all paired with a smooth French wine that complemented the food perfectly. The vibe of the restaurant is lovely too, lively and energetic (a little loud when seated right in the middle, but still enjoyable). The staff were a highlight: friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, which made the experience even better. A fantastic spot for beautifully made food, great wine, and warm service. Weโll definitely be back!!
Wonderful greeting on arrival. Smiling staff. Very busy. Loud. Incredible food. Only issue a portion of my partners chicken was undercooked. He took this up with Luke (great energy, beaming smile, embracing) and Luke took the chicken meal price off the account. Will be back! Highly recommend!
