For a truly exceptional dining experience, Porcine offers a warm embrace from a highly skilled chef. While the menu evolves with the seasons, two dishes from my visit were simply incredible: • The Vol-au-Vent was the highlight. Its light, shatter-in-your-mouth pastry cradled succulent scallops in a delicious creamy sauce. • The Pigeon was equally remarkable. It's rare to find pigeon prepared with such technical finesse. The meat was tender and gamey in all the right ways, complemented by a savoury, deep filling that elevated the bird to new heights. Porcine isn't just for pork lovers; it's for anyone who appreciates high-level French technique presented without any unnecessary fuss. Highly recommended.
Lovely French bistro in Paddington. Easy to park in front of restaurant if after 8pm. We had the oysters to start and they were lovely. Followed by Pork Cretons and Lentils. Mains of divine deer with mushrooms, spring vegetables and frites. The deer was cooked to perfection - not gamey at all. The vegetables were very fresh and the frites were hot and tasty. Finished up with the duck egg tart with honey and truffle. Everything was delicious and the staff were wonderful. Great evening at Porcine!
The overall atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff were very friendly. The ham puff and mussels are a must-try, absolutely delicious and the plating was beautiful. The fish and pigeon dishes were more ordinary, lacking distinctive flavor. The new sakura mille-feuille was huge, with layers that were especially crisp.
Porcine has long held a place among the finest French restaurants in Sydney. Every visit captivates me—its food, wine, and service are consistently exceptional. The pâté, in particular, always leaves a lasting impression. There’s something about its rich texture and depth of flavour that simply lingers. Whether it’s the warmth of the service, the thoughtful wine pairings, or the intimacy of the space, each experience at Porcine feels both familiar and wonderfully indulgent
Incredible French bistro experience in Sydney – perfect for groups and BYO! We visited Porcine as a small group and had such an amazing time. From start to finish, everything was handled beautifully—the staff were welcoming, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable, especially when it came to helping us pair our BYO wines with their dishes. The service felt warm and personal, without ever being too formal. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every single dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. It’s the kind of place where you can tell the chefs genuinely care about what they’re doing. I loved the balance between rustic French charm and elevated, modern techniques. It’s rare to find that combination done so well. The space itself is also lovely—charming, cosy, and stylish without being pretentious. We were seated comfortably despite being a larger group, and it never felt too noisy or cramped. The fact that the restaurant sits above a wine shop (P&V Wine Merchants) just makes the BYO experience even more seamless. This place is ideal for anyone who loves thoughtful French food, enjoys pairing wine with their meal, and wants to spend time in a relaxed, intimate setting. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend!
