6 Star Carrot Cake. Ordered specially for my Son’s Birthday. WOW: Melt-in-mouth soft! Not too sweet- perfect. Expertly decorated. Thank you SO MUCH!!!

Unfortunately not the same bakery anymore. My family has been ordering cakes from them for many years. Every single time we have never been disappointed, no matter the design or the taste of the cake, even the service that we received was second to none. This time we placed an order for a bus-shaped cake for my 2-year old son as he loves buses. We thought it would be easy to do given their previous track record. We had more complicated ones made by them before. But the new owner said they cannot do it as I have asked for a tropical fruit cake and it’s too soft to hold the shape. He said he can do a square cake and print the source image I sent them on top of the cake. I thought that’s ok, because at least the image will be printed on top of the cake. Then when we picked up the cake, the man who saw us standing there totally ignored us and kept on doing what he was doing. He didn’t even bother to ask us to wait or just a courtesy sentence “won’t be long”. Then after one or two minutes he came to serve us without any apology for the wait. When he showed us the cake, we were so upset. The cake was just a normal fruit cake with a plaque of our source image printed and slapped on top of the cake. The happy birthday message we asked for was also missing. It was just a bog standard cake but the price was a custom cake price. We don’t mind paying extra for custom-made cake but not a standard fruit cake with just a printed plaque placed on the top like they couldn’t be bothered to put in any effort. From our experience with this shop, at least we will have a small bus shaped slab cake with fruit inside and a printed image (not a plaque) on the top. On their website there was also a bus-shaped cake and there was a printed image cake too. Maybe our expectation was too high due to the previous perfect experience. Unfortunately we will never order any more custom-made cakes from them.

Wow Wow Wow!!! I was let down by another local Cake business one week before my husbands 60th and went to Orangerie after a friends recommendation and was not disappointed… Not only could they help me out with my last minute order they were so lovely to deal with and absolutely nailed the brief! Not to mention the price which was very reasonable, much lower than my original at home business order … Thank you for such a stunning cake which was also so yummy. We will be back!!!

Ordered this cake for my son's birthday, it's so pretty and super delicious. Plus the chocolate name writing is a bonus!!! Highly recommended

Outstanding and always consistently superb! What more can I say, we are so lucky to have this amazing patisserie at our nearby shopping centre :) Oct 2018 Update. Orangerie Patisserie now accepts payments via EFTPOS. Still the best patisserie in Cairns. The custom birthday cakes are always sensational :)
