One of the most memorable and unique dining experiences we’ve had in Canberra. The food was exquisite, leaning to the Thai flavor profile, but adding in very unique French cooking techniques. Minima Is a beautiful addition to the Canberra dining scene. Well, done team thank you for such a beautiful experience!
Genuinely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. Been to top restaurants from around the world and this was excellent, especially with value considered. Arrived early and was informed table wasn’t ready (which I’d anticipated), I waited outside and the waiter came out to collect me as soon as the table was ready. Wait staff were incredibly attentive, I was sitting by the door and guests would leave the door open when leaving, and a could breeze would come through. Waiters were immediately on it, every time. Little things like that separate top-tier service from simply good. They also explained all the menu when serving, making great recommendations. The food was incredible, super creative and very unique; loved every bite. Only one dish that didn’t blow me away, but when next to such amazing dishes it’s no slight. Flawless from start to finish. Don’t miss if you’re in Canberra.
Came here for my birthday dinner and it was fantastic. I went with the tasting menu, and getting a seat at the kitchen bar made the experience even better—I loved being able to watch each dish come through the food pass. The food was incredible. I never would’ve expected creamy udon to pair so well with five-spice pancetta, fig, and longan. The first entrée was outstanding too: flatbread, mushroom pâté with radish and floss. And their beef tongue? Easily the most tender I’ve ever had. The kingfish tartare with mango was so fresh and bright. I’m usually not a pavlova fan, but theirs was impossible to resist. The combination of tarragon oil at the base, passionfruit ganache, and berries on top was brilliant. Overall, it was absolutely worth the experience. Kudos to the chef and the whole team!
First time visiting, will definitely be back. The service was amazing, the food was sublime, the atmosphere/vibe was relaxing and spot on, and the feee collage just topped it off. We had the tasting menu during the 5.30pm-7pm sitting. Will be back!
I’d heard mixed reports about Minima but —after two recent visits — am happy to report this is an excellent addition to the Canberra restaurant scene. It is Asian fusion, drawing from Thai, Malay, Indian and Peranakan cuisines — very innovative and many twists on well-known dishes. I’ve had the tasting menu on both visits; the menu changes every three months so this has meant I’ve experienced 16 different dishes, and they’ve all been fantastic. The venue is small (c.24 seats) and intimite; you get a great sense that the chefs and staff are cooking for you. A decent wine list with some great wines to complement the food. Highly recommended
