Food came out quickly. Seafood was fresh with delicious flavour combinations. Everything was absolutely delicious! Service was great and staff were attentive. Ordered a few other dishes not pictured, like ramen and spicy salmon roll.
Had a lovely, reasonably priced meal on Boxing Day with the family. We were invited here by family on a difficult day to find an open restaurant with space for a large group of 7. We had quite a number of dishes across my 4 family members that were filling (great portion sizes), delicious and looked very appetizing on arrival. The service was friendly, quick and made easy by the online ordering accompanied by an extensive booklet menu. The other members of our family had different dishes that looked huge and equally delicious. I would return to try other items in the menu - thereโs such a range of food to try. I would def return. I wish I had known about this place earlier. Itโs in an easy to find location but as itโs set off the main CBD road, I assume it is easily missed by passing traffic. It was large inside but not too noisy. The only slightly strange thing is the walk to the amenities is through another restaurant but thatโs no problems.
Nice open restaurant great for groups. We had to book for 5pm as they only take walk ins after 6pm. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. Pleased Sashimi very fresh. Only downside was 90mins limit so we had to rush towards the end. It was very affordable for group sharing.
This place has been our favourite restaurant whenever we crave for Japanese food. Most of their food is so tasty and well seasoning. The staffs are always nice, I love the variety of their entrees and the freshness of their sashimi as well. Overall, a good Japanese restaurant with affordable price!
TL;DR Food is awesome, gluten free menu available, but not all staff understand GF protocols. GF and coeliac people, eat with caution We went to this restaurant several times during our trip in Sydney. Being gluten intolerant myself, I have to be extremely cautious with my food, making sure thereโs no gluten at all or Iโll suffer from being glutened (which means I have to act a bit of a Karen sometimes unfortunately) The taste is really nice and thereโs a lot of gluten free items on the menu, including rice bowls, sushi, sashimi and salads. Most experiences at the mikazuki is uneventful. My family and I enjoyed the meal. My parents like the ramen and the curry rice and I like the gluten free rice bowls and the chirashi salad. However thereโs one particular night (25/10) instead of getting the regular gluten free chirashi salad (itโs normally served without the teriyaki sauce and the tempura flakes), I got the regular version of it. I politely asked the waitress if she can confirm if the salad is gluten free. She confirmed with the chef and replied to me saying itโs gluten free. I tried to explain that I donโt think the dish is safe for me to have, and told them to make me a second bowl gluten free. However, thereโs still tempura flakes on the second salad. I persisted and told the waitress to tell the chef to make me a third salad without the tempura flakes. Fortunately the one we had hasnโt got any tempura flakes. I really enjoyed my food there and itโs one of the few places in Sydney where you can have authentic gluten free Japanese food in a budget when youโre cautious enough. I hope to visit again without having me to act like Iโm a Karen (P.S. Iโll apologise, correct the review, and make it five stars if the tempura flakes are apparently gluten free)
