Macchiavelli Ristorante offers a refined Italian dining experience that blends authenticity with elegance. The meal began with a classic pairing of prosciutto and melon - simple yet beautifully balanced. The home-made agnolotti with beef ragรน was rich and comforting, while the scallopine saltimbocca was tender and full of flavour. Dessert was a highlight: a perfectly executed tiramisu, light yet indulgent. Service was warm and personable, with staff who provided thoughtful recommendations and attentive care throughout the evening. The restaurantโs atmosphere exudes timeless charm, with elegant interiors and a sophisticated yet welcoming feel that captures the spirit of traditional Italian dining. Macchiavelli Ristorante is an excellent choice for those seeking authentic Italian cuisine served with polish and heart.
I canโt believe I have never dined here before! Old school Italian at its best. Hidden away on Clarence street, you walk in to friendly and attentive waitstaff, delicious nibbles to start and a gorgeous understated venue. Loved the food and the private dining room was ideal for the occasion. Recommend and will be back.
Really enjoyed our dinner here! Came with a group for a birthday. The wait staff were fun and friendly, liked to have a joke. Great wine selection and food. Pasta is homemade and served to everyone. The gnocchi with Gorgonzola was my favorite but the pappardelle with duck was a close second. My other fav was the table side beef tartare service which added a nice touch. A grata place to visit for Italian in the CBD!
The restaurant has its walls covered in photos of politicians and celebrities, creating an oddly mismatched atmosphere for what is otherwise a high-end Italian dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, though it's worth noting that when offered water, we were brought a $12, 1-litre bottle of still water without mention of a tap water option something diners may want to ask about upfront. The food itself was a mix of highs and mild disappointments. The zucchini flowers were generously sized and delicious, though at $38, I wouldnโt rush to order them again. The Gorgonzola gnocchi was flavourful and portioned well, the pear helped cut through the cheese but the gnocchi themselves lacked structure, blending too easily into the rich cheese sauce, the texture was too soft to hold their own. The standout was the pappardelle duck ragu perfectly cooked pasta with a rich, well-balanced sauce. Every bite was excellent. For dessert, the crรจme brรปlรฉe was fantastic, with a beautifully crisp top and silky custard. It did take an unusually long time to arrive, but in the end, it was worth the wait.
This is the best Italian restaurant in Sydney city. Tastiest authentic food we have ever had and my husband is from Italy so he would know. The most amazing seafood risotto and ravioli. Service is impressive along with the atmosphere. Canโt wait to return again shorty.
