The best place for breakfast anywhere near Newcastle. Best I've experienced in my travels. The food was outstanding and the service was exceptional. The pav is must try as well as everything else on the menu. Great vegetarian options. Love this place wholeheartedly.

LOLAS DARBY ST has become our favorite Newcastle restaurant/cafe. Amazingly creative cuisine. Menu changes seasonally. The description of the food on the menu does not do justice to the flavors and freshness of the food. Staff is super-friendly. And the location is incredible. We love sitting on the veranda upstairs. We regularly have breakfast and lunch there, but will add it to our dinner rotation as well now.

Absolutely phenomenal level of service. They kept refilling our cold water because it was a super hot day, accommodated us so well and made sure we were comfortable. Super dog friendly too! Food was amazing and fresh, and they let us order when their kitchen was semi closed. Thanks again and will definitely be back!

The venue itself is lovely and has a great vibe for brunch. We were lucky to get a table upstairs on the balcony, which was really nice, and the coffee was delicious. The first waitress who served us was also very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the food was a big disappointment. I ordered the Pan-roasted River Barramundi (with celeriac purรฉe, fennel and salsa verde), which was quite expensive and did not meet expectations at all. The fish was extremely oily, to the point where it was very difficult to eat. When the waitress checked in, I explained that the dish was too oily and didnโ€™t feel right. She said she would pass the feedback on to the chef, which I appreciated. However, the dish was still fully charged, even though it was barely eaten and returned almost untouched. This may have been an unlucky choice or a one-off, but based on our experience, I would not recommend this particular dish. The place is beautiful, but sadly, our overall experience at LOLAS was disappointing.

Been here twice on our weekends away and itโ€™s always amazing. The service is so friendly, itโ€™s got a lovely chill vibe, even a chess board to play on while you have your coffee. The food is outstanding. I ordered a mix of sides for brekkie, the avocado came with a beautiful avo mousse in the middle, the halloumi was melt in your mouth and the hollandaise sauce had this amazing zing to it.
