Overpriced, below average, confused โAsian fusionโ food. You can find better at your local restaurant gems. I came for my birthday dinner. We ordered the tasting menu and paid extra for the duck. While the starters were decent, our entrees and our mains were disappointing. Good produce somehow tasted less than and confusing with sauces and additional elements that didnโt work. The toothfish was very overcooked. Portions were so small. The only dish I genuinely enjoyed was the ice cream dessert but ice cream canโt conceal a sad dinner. I really wanted to like this place but for a $600 bill between two people, I was left incredibly let down, hungry and confusedโฆ. The high reviews are so misleading so I hope that feedback is taken onboard, particularly in the kitchen regarding your menu and pricing. Premium prices should reflect a premium experience.
Had a great night at Lee Ho Fook! Every dish was delicious and had its memorable flavours. The crispy eggplant is a standout, however, for me the coating is over powering the eggplant. Serena was very friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better.
We celebrated our anniversary at Lee Ho Fook and from the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable; special thanks to Serena, who looked after us throughout the evening. She was warm, knowledgeable, and offered drink pairings that perfectly complemented our meal. We opted for the ร la carte menu, and the attention to detail was impeccable and I really couldn't fault anything. The standout for me was the lobster; it was cooked to perfection, melted in my mouth with no issues of taking shells off. It was already done for you. The portion was just right for two people. The salmon was equally good so tender it practically dissolved on the tongue. We did end the night with the frozen yoghurt. Light, refreshing and good for sharing.
Lee Ho Fook is the place to be! From the moment you step in, it feels like youโve entered another dimension. We did the tasting menu, and my oh my โ it was an absolute delight! Each course was a work of art, designed to be devoured with the eyes first, followed by a perfect symphony of flavours and textures. The ambiance strikes that rare balance โ dynamic yet chic, with just the right lighting. Itโs lively, but still comfortable enough for good conversation. A huge shoutout to Tomasso, Manuel, and the wonderful sommelier who looked after us. Their service was top-notch โ warm, professional, and genuinely passionate. They went above and beyond to make the evening special. Weโll definitely be back to explore more of the menu. Massive thanks to the stellar front-of-house team and the incredibly talented kitchen โ you made it a night to remember!
My friend and I visited Lee Ho Fook, a two-hatted modern Cantonese restaurant situated on level one of Porter House, to celebrate her belated birthday. The restaurant's proximity to my office was convenient. As self-proclaimed foodies, we had high expectations, particularly given our fondness for similar modern restaurants like Mr Wong and Lotus. Upon arrival, we noticed the lack of signage from Porter House, necessitating a quick internet search to determine the restaurant's location. While this may be understandable for a new establishment, I would recommend installing clear signage, particularly in the hotel lobby and lift areas. We opted to order the restaurant's signature dishes, including the crispy eggplants, which we enjoyed, although they may have been slightly overseasoned for someone accustomed to spicy Indonesian cuisine. The duck was flavorful, but the skin lacked crispiness, falling short of our expectations, particularly when compared to Mr Wong's offering. The Fujian crab and scallop fried rice was delicious, albeit overly salty. The jasmine tea infused custard was ok, nothing special. Notably, the restaurant did not provide any birthday greetings or special services, which we have come to expect from other establishments. When we politely provided constructive feedback to our waitress, we felt that she became defensive. However, our intention was to offer sincere suggestions to support the restaurant's success. In contrast, our male waiter was exceptionally polite and professional. We provided him with a $20 tip for his professionalism. Ultimately, I refrained from ordering any cocktails, fearing potential disappointment.
