The Christmas Eve menu was fine but no dish was extraordinary or really outstanding. All in all, it was decent but I expected more for that price. If youโ€˜d consider this as fine dining, it would be a mediocre one. The music was a bit too loud so you could not talk without raising your voice.

Modern Japanese restaurant with friendly staff. (Literally everyone works there was friendly) I went there for a express lunch set - comes with entree and main. I loved my confit salmon and the fried chicken. And the sorbet was another level goodness.

My husband booked this place for my birthday, and we arrived early enough to grab happy hour cocktails next door, which honestly, ended up being one of the highlights of the night. We loved the drinks there and will definitely be returning. The restaurant itself has a modern, chilled vibe thatโ€™s visually quite enticing. The DJ was playing some really decent tracks โ€” I actually found myself Shazam-ing a few of them, so bonus points for ambience. We went for the $135 omakase. Most of the dishes were fine โ€” nothing offensive, but nothing weโ€™re still thinking about today. The beef dishes were the clear standouts and genuinely delicious. We also tried the sake flight, which was good. The two highball cocktails, though, were pretty mediocre โ€” I wouldnโ€™t recommend ordering them. Overall, it was a nice experience, and we had a good night out. But in terms of value and memorability, we probably wouldnโ€™t return.

We visited the restaurant for my sister's 21st birthday. The food was good, drinks from the bar were amazing, staff was polite and friendly. But the food service let the whole experience down. It took for ever for the food to come, and often only half of the course would come, then 10 mins later the other half would arrive. We have half of our snack, edamame came after our entree. And one of our entree didn't show up at all. It took an hour and half to get to our main course, sorry the first half of our main course, then 10 mins later, after we cleared the dishes, the 2nd half of the main course arrived. We were getting more hungry as the night went on, and also quite bored. In the end, we didn't bother with desserts. To the credit of the staff, they were all friendly and professional, even send out a birthday dessert free of charge. Overall service was great, food was good, just the food took forever to arrive. Lastly, there is no energy with the DJ. He is just playing background music all night. But what's the point, if you want background music, any Spotify playlist can do. Why hire the DJ and don't utilise them. I was at Kid Kyoto the night before, food was equally delicious and service was quick. All the courses arrived at the same time. Given the similar price point, I don't see myself coming back.

Super friggen good experience. The vibe was super cool with dim lights, nice open kitchen, lil dj and furnishings, pretty pretty cool. Came here cos I saw it had been awarded two chef hats and Japanese food gotta be the best in the world, it got like a 15/20, I think, from Australia Food Guide and they definitely deserved it! We also ordered like half the menu, at least. The food was crazy good; both the wagyu beef and tuna tartare were the best i've ever had, melted in my mouth and heaps flavour of the best kind; I don't usually order steak, because I find them boring, but the wagyu steak, that the nice waitress recommended, ended up blowing my mind, super tender and flavourful; the truffle wagyu katsu sandwich is as good as it sounds; even the pickled veges were rlly good and there were other amazing stuff i ate. However, I found the gyoza, the fried chicken, and the rice with fish on top to be nothing special to be honest. Dessert was like 7/10 for both. Oh and everything came pretty quick and very nicely spaced. The waiter was heaps cool, chatting good, and recommending wines to my parents n that. However, I WISHED THAT THEY WARNED US ABOUT THE KITCHEN CLOSING! cos I definitely could have done with some more tartare. Bathroom was very nice too. Overall, VERY VERY VERY FRIGGEN GOOD. I love tartare even more now. THANK YOU.
