This is a Chinese fusion restaurant with generous portion sizes. We ordered the egg fried rice, kung po fried chicken, and sweet and sour whole fish. The egg fried rice was actually the standout dish of the three, simple but well done. We were a bit adventurous with the kung po fried chicken and probably should have stuck with the classic kung po instead. We were also expecting a whole fish rather than a fillet. Unfortunately, both the chicken and fish tasted like they had been pre-prepared and reheated with sauce. Our bill came to $120, with two cans of beer costing $24, so we expected a bit more for the price. The service, however, was excellent. There is outdoor seating available, which I assume is pet-friendly. We would have loved to bring our dog along. :)
Portions are decent and no complaints about the flavor and quality of food. Staff are very friendly as well and attentive. We only wish there was a fully enclosed air conditioned area for dining during the hot summer days.
My friends and I really enjoyed the 8-course vegan banquet we had on Monday night. Not everyone was vegan, but all of us loved every mouthful and every sip of the accompanying fruity mocktails. I donโt really like mushrooms, but the pancake and shitake mushroom dishes were so good! One member of our table had food sensitivities and this was easily and happily catered for, which was appreciated. The service was very great too! This restaurant, in particular the vegan banquet, is highly recommended!
Itโs a great location with an enjoyable dining experience overall. The hainan chicken was easily the highlight โ flavourful with just the right punch of ginger. The wontons were silky and smooth with a generous pork filling, and the noodles in the Dan Dan dish were perfect. However, the sauces for both the wontons and Dan Dan noodles were far too vinegary, which overpowered the other flavours. The Dan Dan sauce, in particular, wasnโt very traditional โ I couldnโt taste the sesame paste, and it leaned heavily toward a sweet and tangy profile. It was so intense that I ended up pairing most of it with the fried chicken just to balance the flavour. I was also a little disappointed that it didnโt include the usual pork mince. That said, the service and atmosphere were excellent, and overall it was a good experience. With a few tweaks to the sauces, this place could easily be a favourite.
Cool spot in trendy Paddo..been wanting to try for a while. It is slightly upmarket Chinese but all our dishes were nicely prepared. Service was good and place was comfy...
