Attentive. The staff, and our main waiter Harry, were professional as well as carrying with them a down-to-earth warmth with all the patrons. The staff worked as a team so seamlessly, looking after everyone with a very relaxed attitude. The food was simply BEAUTIFUL. In flavour and presentation. Light, fresh, fragrant, and varied! me and my best friends had the pleasure of being served by manny and anu. they made us feel so cared for and walked us through the menu in beautiful detail. the ambience was incredible with romantic lighting and just a really good aura. the food was next level amazing, literally no complaints. the timing of how the food came out took us on an interactive journey, and was tantalising on the tastebuds!! both anu and manny were soooo professional and friendly and clearly take pride in their place of work. they knew the menu inside and out and were able to cater to all of our dietary requirements.

Had dinner at Kahaani in Melbourne and it was absolutely amazing! We ordered Rava Fish Fry, Bengali Gobi Cauliflower, Smoked Chicken Curry, Garlic Naan, and Shahi Tukda — and every single dish was mouth-wateringly delicious. The Rava Fish Fry was the clear standout for me: perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and fresh on the inside. And the Shahi Tukda was an indulgent way to end the meal — rich, flavourful, and perfectly balanced. A special shout-out to Agatha and Tanu, who took care of us with such warm hospitality and friendly service. They made the experience all the more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be visiting again. Highly recommended!

Very good food and really good and friendly service. Harry welcomed us in with a big smile and an energetic attitude. We were seated at the table we had requested at our booking. Agatha was wonderful and very patient explaining the menu to us. The food was excellent and delicious and so were the cocktails. Overall we were very pleased. Excellent service and excellent food

I had an absolutely delightful dining experience at Kahaani Restaurant in Carlton! The menu was a celebration of authentic Indian flavors, and every dish we ordered was a masterpiece. The Daal Bukhara was rich and comforting, with a perfect balance of spices. The Gatte ki Sabji was a delightful surprise, bursting with flavor, while the Paneer Lababdar was creamy and indulgent, with just the right amount of warmth. The kababs were succulent and perfectly spiced, and the Litti Chokha was an absolute highlight, offering a rustic yet refined taste of tradition. What truly elevated the meal was the use of desi ghee, which lent a subtle, authentic richness to every dish without overpowering the delicate flavors. The attention to detail in the preparation was evident, with each dish showcasing a masterful blend of spices and textures. The service was warm and attentive, making the experience even more memorable. Kahaani is a gem for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine with a touch of elegance.
