We had dinner here on Dec 12. After eating here, we went home and started vomiting, and the next day we felt extremely unwell. We thought it might just be an issue on our side, but later we checked with friends who dined with us and they experienced the same symptoms as well.

For a restaurant of this caliber, I have to say that the service level is unsatisfactory at best. At a top-grade wagyu yakiniku restaurant, you definitely expect your meat to be grilled by a professional at the table. Well, Kagoshima runs on a different plan. Somehow, each and any time you need someone, you're almost looking around to ask for a favor. Now that we are done with the ugly, I have to still give this joint 5 stars. You get authentic Japanese A5 wagyu presented in an impeccable way, perfect to consume in the grill in front of you. Each and every part simply melts in your mouth, thanks to the nature of the Kobe A5 wagyu. But I do have to give kudos to the chef for marinating it just enough as well as appropriate levels of salt and pepper. Again, the enire experience should be centered around celebrating the meat and that is well accomplished. As for the wagyu nigiris, these are also near perfection. Even if the meat was a bit more seared than what I think is ideal, the meat and uni are so fresh that it just disappears in your mouth. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Yes. The warning for Kagoshima is that the portions are super small. And yes, you are paying a lot. So if you are a value diner, just don't think about the bill while you eat. It'll just ruin your experience. The atmosphere is a bit too modern for the type of food they are serving. I would've loved to see a bit more wood, Japanese-style interior, and a bit more even grill. The interior is clean and modern, but does not fit the price range. Kagoshima Master is absolutely amazing. If you are the owner, you need to make sure to train your staff to be more present as well as grill the meat for every table (not just the ones your like). If you want a special treat of wagyu, this is the place to go in Sydney.

I came here for my partner's birthday, and we ordered the set menu. Everything was nice. We really enjoyed all the food, especially the A5 chuck roll, which is our favourite. We also added yukke from the ala cart menu and two drinks. We also got a free wagyu birthday cake. I will definitely come back!!

Claris served very perfect! Recently, it is the season of black truffles. We have tasted new products and especially like them! The roast meat is tender, recommended! Dinks also very unique and tasty.
