Had a great time at Joji for our wedding anniversary last night! Helena has been very nice , attentive and friendly throughout dinner which left us a very pleasant experience first time there. Initially I thought the food was kinda similar to Kid Kyoto but god, way better with depth. We loved the beef tartare, huge tempura prawns and the Wagyu beef was so so tender. My husband came here 2 months ago and he didn’t like the cabbage salad so Helena asked the chef to change it to broccolini . That was a very generous offer and we enjoyed it totally. The cocktail Zen Colarda was very yummy. Couldn’t see the coconut cream in the glass but the first sip hit you with a refreshing strong coconut taste. Loved it 🥰🍸

Joji is Sydney's hottest rooftop venue right now, the vibes are right and the kitchen is on fire with these dishes! we started with the Wagyu Tartare with potato hash and nash pear $12 each, i would highly highly recommend ordering these little bites of happiness, they are so well balanced and tasty! perf start to the meal then Hokkaido Scallops Nigiri style $16 for 2, personally i hate wasabi and hate it even more when it's on the fish already instead of on the side so unfortunately i couldn't enjoy this one we shared the Beef Katsu Sando $36 with green pepper mustard and white onion, i thought the beef was a bit under seasoned and i didn't enjoy it being as rare as it was so i wouldn't order this one for mains we had the Hibachi Wagyu $72 with shimeji and mushroom tare, wowow i loved this dish, perfectly cooked and the cute little mushrooms added so much flavour and fun to the dish. we also had the Black Garlic Eggplant $26 with goma, also a delicious addition, the eggplant was really nice and rich in taste. we paired these alongside the Charred Broccolini $19 with umami dressing and furikake, no joke best broccolini ever!

We popped in for drinks and snacks and ended up having one of those “damn, everything here is good” kind of experiences. The sashimi plate was honestly some of the best I’ve had - insanely fresh, melt-in-your-mouth, and beautifully done. We also had the wagyu tartare on potato hash, which was delicate and perfectly balanced. I loved the contrast between the crunchy hash brown and the soft, rich tartare. The lotus chips with avocado purée were a nice accompaniment to the sashimi and wagyu - simple, fresh, and easy to snack on. The cocktails were just as solid. The Musashi Martini was served dry with lemon oil - super fresh, clean, and elegant. We also tried their twist on an Old Fashioned, using chrysanthemum agave, black tea umeshu, and yuzu bitters. Even with the twists, it still drank like a classic - smooth, balanced, and really well executed. The rooftop setting is relaxed but polished, perfect for grazing and sipping as the city buzzes below. Service was a huge highlight - Ricky looked after us and made us feel genuinely welcome, super attentive without hovering. They even surprised us with a complimentary birthday shot, which was a lovely touch. Great food, excellent drinks, and standout service. Would absolutely go back.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We booked a table for three at Joji on Friday evening with the girls. Our table was on the terrace, and although it started raining heavily, the location and views were absolutely beautiful. We had planned to take some photos together, but the weather didn’t allow us to stay outside for long. One of the waiters kindly held an umbrella for me while I quickly snapped a few photos — that was truly going above and beyond, and very much appreciated. We then moved into the bar area, where the vibe was fantastic despite the rain. The live music created such a great atmosphere, even though it was quite busy. We ordered some Japanese-style light snacks including sashimi, lotus chips, and fried chicken — all were delicious and perfect for sharing. We stayed from 7pm to 11pm and never once felt rushed, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. A wonderful venue with great service, atmosphere, and food. Would definitely come back again.

Excellent atmosphere, decor, service and food. It is very expensive though plus there is an automatic 5% tip. Drinks are exceptionally expensive. But you do get what you pay for, so you won’t be disappointed. I forgot to take photos of the beef katsu sando and spatchcock. Spatchcock was good, the sashimi was excellent, fresh and generous in serving size. Bar burger was very good but quite a heavy manly flavour. It was also kid friendly.
