My best find for 2025. Loved it so much I go back monthly. Darren and team serve what I’d call Australian produce with French/Asian influence - maybe… it’s hard to describe but it is always delicious. I debated giving them a glowing review because it’s getting harder and harder to book given the increasing popularity and how good value for money this place is but I’m not one to gatekeep!

One of the best dining experiences in Sydney. The food was exceptional, unique and well thought out. The chef & staff are great. So worth it for the amount of food you get too. 11/10 will definitely come back

I visited Izy Aki in Paddington with my friends and from the very first moment, everything was exceptional. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the experience special. They took the time to understand what kind of drinks we enjoy — even guiding us through cocktails based on whether we preferred sweet or bitter flavours. Such a thoughtful touch! The ambience and décor were absolutely phenomenal — intimate, stylish, and perfectly set for what turned out to be an incredible night. And then the food… wow. From the first course to the tenth, every dish was elevated, refined, and bursting with flavour. Each plate felt like a story — a true celebration of local produce presented in beautiful izakaya style. Even though we were completely stuffed by the end, every bite was one hundred percent worth it. A special mention to Darren, who runs the restaurant — he is an incredible host. So warm, passionate, and genuinely invested in the experience of his guests. You can feel the love and appreciation in the way each course is presented. This was not just a dinner — it was an experience. I honestly cannot wait to go back. Highly, highly recommend!

It was my first time trying omakase, and I was impressed with everything. I couldn’t believe how full I was — my friends and I were absolutely stuffed. Every dish on the menu was truly delicious, and the chef paid attention to every detail. Another thing that really impressed us was how amazing the cocktails were. The service was five-star. I highly recommend this place.☺️☺️

Incredible food. Best food we’ve had in Sydney for a while. Tasted and looked impeccable. Everyone was super friendly. My only critique is that our 6 courses were literally served in 60 minutes even though the booking is for 90 minutes. When you spend $300 I think minimum should be 90 minutes. Regardless we’d still come back for another special occasion.
