A very relaxing place to chill and have food and drinks. Beautiful atmosphere with a secluded feel.

In The Hanging Garden is a nice spot to chill out in the afternoon, especially if you just want a relaxed place to sit and have a drink. There are a few food options and drinks available, but the food quality is pretty average and the prices are on the higher side for what you get. Overall, not too bad if you’re nearby or don’t know where else to go, but it’s more about the atmosphere than the food.

The most beautiful place for basically any meal. Very peaceful and sheltered from the weather. Service was warming and we had such a great time chatting to staff. The food is fabulous, full of spices and warmth (but for all you medium fans out there the chilli is optional and offers tailoring to the individual spice level). Atmosphere is incredibly gorgeous. I could sit here from dawn to dusk under the plants.

Review: The Hanging Garden, Hobart The Hanging Garden offers an incredible experience that starts with an unassuming entrance on Murray Street but quickly expands into a vast, semi-open area as you walk further in. The space is stunningly designed, with a welcoming atmosphere and a variety of menus offering both food and drinks. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to see many families, including children, creating a diverse and friendly environment. It’s clear that this spot is perfect for all kinds of visitors, adding to its appeal. One of the highlights is the expansive communal seating area, which can accommodate hundreds of people comfortably. There’s even a stage structure, suggesting this venue is well-prepared for live events and performances. Without a doubt, The Hanging Garden is one of the best-planned spaces for events in the heart of Hobart. Highly recommended!
