loved this place !!! Decided to go for dinner on a Tuesday and was so happy ! The $5 tacos were incredible especially considering the price - we had the haloumi & the beef tacos and both were delicious. The beef were definitely our favourites :) the margaritas !!! I love a margarita and these went down like water. The atmosphere of the entire place was really enjoyable too, especially with the seating upstairs where we were sat at a window with a slight breeze. Would definitely come back.
Grinners Dive Bar the perfect place to meet a friend or a date night and have a bite to eat and a drink. Was lovely sitting outside and enjoying a nice summer night in Hobart. The Paloma cocktail was refreshing and lovely. Highly recommend the loaded fries with chicken, the home-made guac and the cauliflower wings. All delightful and delicious. Staff are welcoming and friendly. My new favorite.
Can't beat $5.50 Taco Tuesdays!! Staff were very friendly, happy to recommend/suggest menu items. Good vibes, good value, (though strategic seating required to make sure you can hear conversation over the music).
Amazing food! Incredible price for such quality. Don't be put off by the name "dive bar", it's anything but! It's like a cool little East LA or Mexican cantina. And they have Tecate beer and loads of margarita options. Super!
I visited this restaurant two days in a rowโit was that good! The first night, I went for dinner with colleagues, and the flavors impressed us so much that we ended up booking it again for lunch the next day. For dinner, I tried the Veg Nachos, which came with tortilla chips topped generously with cheese, chili beans, sour cream, and guacamole. Each bite was delicious! We were also lucky to get $12 Margaritas that night; I ordered the Spicy Watermelon Margarita, which really lives up to its name. It was incredibly spicy, thanks to the jalapeรฑo-infused tequila, but the mix of orange liqueur, lime, watermelon, and agave made for a unique and memorable drink. My colleagues tried other cocktails, and each of us was impressed with the variety. I also had the Charred Corn with lime cream, grated cheese, and paprika. It was alright, though not as standout as the other items. But it was still a nice addition to the meal. For lunch the next day, I tried the Veg Burrito, filled with mushrooms, halloumi, beans, slaw, rice, chipotle mayo, salsa verde, and guacamole. It was absolutely delicious and filled with fresh, flavorful ingredients. The burrito was well-balanced, and every bite was satisfying. The ambiance and service were excellent on both visits. The restaurant has a unique charm, decorated with antique pieces like paintings, flags, and souvenirs, which gives it a memorable and welcoming vibe. Overall, itโs a great place with delicious vegetarian options, creative cocktails, and a fun, eclectic atmosphere. Highly recommend!
