This place has such a cool vibe. From the street you wouldnโt even know it was there. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and I like that itโs a share plate vibe so you can try a bit of everything. The only thing I will say is it was quite hot inside but other than that I loved it.
Really great Japanese on the Coast. The food was delicious and service was good. The Etsu fried chicken, broccolini and Wagyu fat potatos were the standouts. Would definitely come back just for that :) A heads up for anyone with eye sensitivities, try and sit with your back to the front door. The inside is very dark and moody and every time the door opened we were hit with a bright light straight into our eyes, which after a couple times was a little uncomfortable + eyes had to readjust to the light multiple times.
A very popular place for sure. It is very hard to book in a good time slot. Our dinner started at 4.30pm - that's the only one left :) We had very good sake there. The tempura was great! And suprisingly, the grill steak on the omakase menu was just perfectly done. While I was taking a seat at the bar, it was a pleasure to watch how the cocktails were made. A great experience!
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Etsu Izakaya is an absolute standout! From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere is warm, stylish, and truly special. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable, and always make you feel taken care of. Every dish that came out was packed with flavour, fresh, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced. The cocktails are next level, and the sake selection is incredible. You can really taste the quality in everything they do. Etsu is one of those places you keep coming back to. Highly recommended for anyone who loves amazing Japanese food, great service, and a memorable dining experience!
After hearing about this place for yearsโฆ I finally got to try Etsu! As a Japanese person Iโm naturally picky when it comes to Japanese foodโฆ. But omg the food was AMAZING! But their service was just as impressive! Very informative with how many dishes to order(and it was spot on). Mocktails were delicious and not overpriced like some other places. (I mean, there isnโt any alcohol in it!) We had Aburi Salmon and king mushroom maki, fried chicken and okonomiyaki. We couldnโt decide which was our favourite because they were ALL delicious! The timing of food arriving was almost suspiciously perfect. We felt welcomed, attended and cared for. As Iโve been told by others, it may not be suitable for a group gathering as the music is on loud side, but perfect for an intimate dinner for two. Weโll definitely be back! One constructive feedback, Tiramiso was devious but I personally would loved it more if sponge and cream ratio was 1:1 as the cream was very rich.
