Absolutely loved our visit to El Burro Cantina at Tamborine Mountain! The service was 100/10.. Warm, friendly, and so attentive. The food was delicious, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. A special shout-out to the lovely ladies who work there, they truly went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back! 🌮✨

The atmosphere at this Mexican place was nice, but unfortunately the experience went downhill from there. We waited over an hour for our food, only for the order to come out wrong. The wait staff said they’d get back to us, but then avoided our table for another 20 minutes, which was really frustrating. When the food finally arrived it did taste good, but the portions were very small for the price, making it feel overpriced. I’d recommend avoiding this place when it’s busy, the service just isn’t equipped to handle a full house.

The food tasted fine, but the portions were far too small for the price. When they asked if I wanted sour cream and more tortillas and corn chips, I naturally assumed it was a free refill — but it turned out they charged extra for it. The reason I thought it was a refill was because the initial serving of chips and tortillas was ridiculously small. Sorry, but while the taste was average, the portion size was the worst. I won’t be coming back. The staff were friendly, though it would’ve been nice if they had informed customers beforehand about the extra charges.

Jalapeño poppers tasted like crunchy capsicum. That said, I've tried cooking poppers at home with the same sad results. It's probably a difficult dish to cook and I hope you guys keep trying 🥰 The atmosphere was cool and the guacamole was fresh 👌 If you're a fan of Mexican food - probably not worth it. If you're hungry - yes it's edible.

Talk about a hidden gem! We stumbled upon this place after watching sunset on the mountain and were not disappointed. The service and atmosphere is great. Super fun decor and all the staff were great to chat with and provide recommendations. We shared the chicken wings (a perfect way to sample all the homemade hot sauces), jalapeno poppers and steak fajitas. All the food was delicous and great serving sizes. Make sure you book in advance! They have heaters and blankets for chilly nights too.
