โจ Coya โ Peruvian Restaurant | Noosa Heads โจ As a Latin American ๐จ๐ฑ and a true lover of Peruvian cuisine ๐ต๐ช, I always have high expectations when trying Peruvian food abroad. Coya in Noosa Heads not only met those expectations, but truly exceeded them. We started with the Classic Lubica ceviche ๐๐ โ incredibly fresh, vibrant and perfectly balanced, accompanied by an outstanding leche de tigre full of depth and flavour. The lobster tacos ๐ฎ๐ฆ are an absolute must-try: refined, flavourful and beautifully executed โ a great expression of modern Peruvian cuisine. The Lomo Saltado ๐ฒ, although often considered a traditional dish, was a real highlight. This version, served more like a cazuela, delivers rich, comforting and impressive flavours. Easily one of the best interpretations Iโve had. To finish, the Tres Leches dessert ๐ฐ was a wonderful discovery โ not overly sweet, perfectly balanced and ideal to end the meal on a relaxed note. And of course, the Pisco Sours ๐ธ๐ deserve a special mention โ 1000% recommended: refreshing, well balanced and true to Peruvian tradition. โจ Coya offers something truly special: authentic Peruvian flavours elevated in a warm, modern setting with excellent service. A dining experience I would happily repeat. ๐ถ๏ธ๐ธ๐ต๐ช
So Impressive ~ our first experience at a Peruvian restaurant & it definitely wonโt be our last. The whole experience was amazing, our waiter (sorry didnโt catch his name) seemed like he was running the show on his own - was exceptional ~ attentive, informative & efficient, I take my hat off to him. Our meals were amazing, to say the least, each bite was tantalising, from the very first bite of the perfectly cooked lamb chops to the very last bite of the tres leches cake ~ every morsel was fresh, moist, bursting with flavours & mouthwatering. Our dishes all came with a side of freshly made sauce which all ignited my taste buds ๐ OMG!! The barramundi was to die for & the duck was perfection, best duck legs ever. The ambience of this restaurant is also amazing, such a soothing, romantic & relaxing aestheticโฆ If youโre holidaying in Noosa or youโre a local & you havenโt tried Coya yet ~ do yourselves a FLAVOUR๐๐พ
Stumbled on this through walking past and took advantage of the lunch special. Amazing value and the food was exceptional. Great upmarket funky vibe with really professional friendly service. We will definitely be back
First time tasting Peruvian food and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed every single bite, the quality, variety of spices and sauces were chefโs kiss. You get decent portions between 2 people but it is on a pricey side. The attentive and caring staff Tomas and Sophie held the fort down when it got busy, kudos to you both and to the chefs! Beautiful interior as well!
Great atmosphere and service. Our waiter Tomas was kind, attentive and helpful. The food was good but not great. Watermelon salad lacked refreshing tones as watermelon is dehydrated and salad ingredients are a little dry. The pork was also a little dry. The ceviche is drained (no liquid). Overall a good experience for those willing to adventure their palates beyond standard modernist boundaries.
