Visited for lunch on a weekend and tried a number of dishes. The French onion soup was tasty with the melty cheese but preferred if the bread was not completely soaked and soggy. The spinach ravioli was silky soft, and the porcini sauce with hazelnut has a rich depth of flavour, slightly earthy and nutty. The pan seared scallops were pretty big, cooked just enough to maintain the softness, and the leek fondue was light and buttery with a hint of sweetness from the leek. For mains, had the chicken vol au vent with spinach and morel sauce. The puff pastry was not the flakiest but was easy to cut and there was a generous amount of boneless chicken pieces which was tender. It was paired with spinach to soak up all the sauce which was full of flavour; rich and fatty with a concentrated savouriness. For dessert, the crepe suzette was flambรฉed tableside; it was soft and thin, and the orange sauce has a strong bittersweet liqueur taste followed by a sweet, zesty and buttery aftertaste. Overall enjoyed the meal, especially the sauces used in the dishes which were very tasty and flavoursome. Service was also good, the food was served in a timely manner even though it was busy.
Very solid. We each had a french onion soup & baguette with butter, fillet mignon & pomme frites, beef bourguignon with pomme puree, apple tart and crรจme brรปlรฉe plus a very nice grenache
I visited this restaurant yesterday with a friend and had a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely amazingโevery dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. I will definitely be returning soon. Highly recommended!
My husband and I had the most amazing meal here tonight! Everything was brilliant. From the welcome, to the cocktails, food, service and ambience! We will most definitely be return customers!
What an amazing dining experience! I have dined at many places in Melbourne and this restaurant is my favourite. Pricey but the food exquisite. Lovely attentive French staff. The artichoke, truffle, hazelnut entree was the best I have ever tasted. The decorative bark on the side of the plate with tiny whipped mushrooms - sensational! Fish main was superb as well as the duck, although slightly salty. Finished with creme brulee to share; lovely! Few cocktails ๐ธ throughout topped the night. Will be back next time I'm in Melbourne!
