I went custard hunting today and stumbled upon a hidden gem close to home, filled with delicious croissants and other delightful French pastries. The shop is called โ€œCannelle French Pastries.โ€ I checked out some reviews on Google Maps and found out that the shop changed hands a few years ago. The friendly and cheerful person who served me mentioned that they recently moved from Stepney to Torrensville in February of this year. To satisfy my custard cravings, I couldnโ€™t resist picking a custard croissant. Since my workmates have been raving about cinnamon scrolls, I decided to grab one of those too! The croissant was greatโ€”light and flaky without being overly greasy, and the custard was creamy and delicious. They really packed it in there! As for the cinnamon scroll, it was such a treat! Unlike the heavy, overly sweet versions from American franchises, this one was just right. It wasnโ€™t too dense, and the icing was balancedโ€”it was not sickly sweetโ€”so I enjoyed every bite without feeling overwhelmed. I could easily eat the whole thing without feeling like my islet cells were going into overdrive, pumping insulin.

A little piece of French cuisine in the sleepy side streets of Torrensville. Stopped past on my way to work, and got to experience a light, fluffy, crispy, buttery croissant. Plenty of airy layers. I enjoyed the deliciously glossy pain aux raisin ๐ŸŒ No coffee, nothing showy, just honest fresh pastries made on site in the warehouse/patisserie! Keep an eye out for the side of road flags advertising the spot, or youโ€™ll drive and miss it!

Really good pastries. So buttery and flakey! There's also parking at the back of the building for those who are worried about parking :) We had the pan au Chocolat and the custard corneti Will definitely be back !

The Best Croissants in Adelaide! These croissants are light and buttery while also being flakey and the right amount of chewy! Many other treats in store to try also but for me itโ€™s a classic croissant every time. Make sure to phone ahead if you want some because they seem to sell out quick!

Authentic and simple pastries. The almond croissant was sweet and nutty and the pain au chocolat had the perfect ratio of chocolate and pastry. Coffee was okay, but did not have alternative milk varieties. A local favourite, recommend visiting to just experience a simple and decent bakery!
