This was a little bit like stepping back in time for my wife and I. We were taken on a taste trip back to Le Corail - a delicious and friendly French restaurant in Paris some 8 years ago. Brasserie L'Entrecôte reminded us of the exceptional cuisine served by the French (and recommended to us when we were there). The meals were presented as pieces of art and tasted richly of the memories of Paris. Nothing let down our high expectations, which were initially curious by the ease of the online booking service. We were greeted with reverence, treated in the highest regard, served promptly by their French wait staff who graciously assisted us in our dismal attempts to order in French. The setting was curated with the nostalgia of a classic European setting, the lighting was gentle, and as we caught the tail of the full house, we experienced both the height of loud conversations and the peace of a few couples quietly enjoying their meal together. As someone who is hearing impaired, the atmosphere did not phase me at all. This is definitely a place worth a special trip if you're after an authentic French cuisine experience. Despite their menu leaning towards their steak products, we opted for the snails, bisque, pie, and desserts - all the neat homely French meals suggested to us by our French hosts years back. A classic French restaurant with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The escargots are generous in portion and impressively large. My favorite is the Saint Jacques—scallops with puff pastry, paired with foie gras mousse and onion jam. The combination is layered and delightful: crispy and soft textures, sweet and fresh flavors, buttery without being heavy. However, the main courses were a bit underwhelming—the duck and steak didn’t stand out. The baguette also disappointed: lacking air pockets and the crust wasn’t crisp and firm. Overall, some standout dishes make it worth a visit, but not everything hits the mark.

The foie gras was rich, silky, and perfectly balanced—an absolute highlight. The escargots were another favorite, served in a classic garlic-parsley butter that was bursting with flavor. The service was excellent—special thanks to Jess and Robin, who were both warm, attentive, and made our evening even more enjoyable. The ambiance is cozy yet elegant. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy quality French cuisine on the North Shore. Can’t wait to return and try more from the menu!

What an incredible dining experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambience was warm, welcoming, and felt wonderfully homely. Our servers, Jess and Robin, were absolutely amazing so kind, attentive, and genuinely made us feel looked after throughout the evening. The food was simply outstanding. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully prepared. The sirloin steak was perfectly cooked and the escargot with beans was an absolute standout easily my favourite of the night. This is truly one of the best French restaurants I’ve been to. Between the delicious food, the impeccable service, and the cosy atmosphere, it’s a place I’ll be recommending to everyone and can’t wait to return to.
