Cairns has a large Italian immigrant community, so it is known as a place where you can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine. I visited Bellocale Italian Seafood Restaurant after hearing that it offers Southern Italian dishes and is popular with locals. The arancini was acceptable but not particularly memorable. The raw yellowtail had very little flavor. The linguine marinara was simply good, and the Pescara-style risotto was also good and well prepared. Overall, the food was not bad, but it did not leave a strong impression, and personally, I do not feel a strong desire to return.

Bellocale, Cairns is a must-do for quality gluten-free dining. My third time dining here and the food is always incredible. The Risotto Alla Pescatora was the standout. Rich, balanced, and packed with seafood in every bite. Local FNQ seafood, finished with saffron Pernod bouillabaisse and Napoli, done perfectly. Reliable, confident, and always worth it.

Best meal we had in Cairns, run by a lovely couple along with a delightful waitress made a great dining experience. From the initial welcome to the amazing menu and delicious food I can’t recommend enough. You won’t be disappointed!

Decided to try after seeing the reviews online and it definitely lives up to the reviews. My favourite was the seafood ravioli, the seafood taste was great, I think I could eat 10 raviolis on my own. Loved it!

A short walk from the esplanade to this busy little Italian restaurant that will not disappoint! Our party of 3 was well looked after and served exceptional food with a smile. I had the ravioli, which was the best I've had. The risotto and linguine were also brilliant, as was the crumble we shared for desert. A must visit in Cairns.
