About
Azuma Den celebrates two cuisines from East Asia, Japanese and Korean. From the kitchens of Japan, we highlight simplicity, elegance and seasonal ingredients and from the kitchens of Korea, we showcase bold flavours, fermentation and the subtle art of balancing all elements. These two kitchens combined over the flames of the hibachi grill provide endless opportunities to explore the cross over of cuisines and all the taste sensations they have to offer.

Very tasty food, loved the wagyu tacos, and cucumber kimchi. Great vegetarian options including the sweet potato noodle dish and mushroom dumplings served with very yummy coleslaw. The highlight for me was the creme brรปlรฉe, one of those especially well interpreted deserts you eat very quietly, because you don't really want to share it! Awesome cold carafe of saki.
Good service! Most of the dishes were either on the salty or sweet side. The dumplings were perfect. The fried chicken was too salty ( as it may recommended to have with rice, but obviously too salty to just having chicken on its own)
I recently visited with my partner for his birthday dinner. Location is really nice (restaurants inside nice hotels often have a more elevated feel in my opinion), and the venue itself is quite big and across two levels. We chose the fire feast set menu and the food was great. We both had a cocktail and whilst I didnโt love mine (not sweet enough for my taste), my partner enjoyed his. Highlights of the menu were the prawn and lobster dumplings, salmon, wagu tacos and AZA brรปlรฉe. The main negative was there was too much food! Some of the portion sizes (fried chicken and calamari) should have been smaller to allow more space for the desserts. But overall it was great, I just left quite uncomfortably full. Service was good but nothing special. Would recommend and would return.
A birthday celebration brought us to Azuma Den. Rather than our usual set menu we tried our choice of dishes for a change. For starters we had the tacos, sashimi and oysters. The first two were delicious, fresh and a great example of fusion. The oysters were a slight let down, because of their very small size they just weren't very satisfying. For our main we had the pork-ginger and mushroom dumplings, the latter was a standout, I'm always surprised by how delicious vegetarian dishes can be. The accompanying cabbage slaw bathed in rich zesty dressing was a game changer for me in dumpling realm. We finished off with pork jowl skewers which were juicy, melty and umami-ful. Unable to settle on one, for dessert, we opted for all three- the brรนlee, meringue and matcha mochi wrap. I enjoyed the brรนlee which was decent sized, and I think could be shared between two as a sweet treat rather than a full dessert if you so wish. My cousin enjoyed the meringue which was chewy with coconut flakes offset by a savoury tasting custard. The matcha mochi was nice too, a quick morsel if you don't really have a sweet tooth but don't want to miss out. P.S. we found it very hard to find parking nearby on a rainy evening but the lovely waitress told us that there is underground parking available at the East Hotel and the ticket can be validated if you dine at the restaurant.
Truly spectacular food!! Wowww. There is so much ambition, generosity, and realness involved here. I highly commend the Korean Chicken, dumplings (the chef makes the dumpling skin from scratch, insane!!), wagyu beef tacos, calamari, silken tofu. Havent tried everything yet but itโs such an exciting menu, and in all dishes weโve had so far there is attention to detail, authentic ingredients and beautiful balance. Such warm and gracious hospitality also!! Thank you for making our evenings so enjoyable Francesco, Clara, Luffy and Dion
